Growing up in India, our fondest beauty memories weren't from sterile plastic bottles bought off store shelves. They were of mothers and grandmothers stone-milling fresh sprouted chickpeas (besan), infusing raw milk with golden saffron threads, and blending cooling sandalwood for auspicious festival mornings.
As the modern beauty industry flooded shelves with harsh micro-bead scrubs and synthetic chemical preservatives that stripped the skin's natural lipid barrier, we sought to return to first principles: grain-powered biotechnology.
